Tiffany Radford - Art

Tiffany
comes to Greenbrier Academy from Shady Spring, West Virginia. After
completing her B.S in Art Education and B.A. in Graphic Design and
Advertising at Concord University, she spent her first two years in
education in Hickory, North Carolina. She has experience teaching Art,
Sculpture and AVID in the high school environment.
Here is some
information about what the AVID system has to offer: AVID stands for
Advancement Via Individual Determination. AVID is a system used to prepare
students for four-year college eligibility. It has a proven track record in
closing the achievement gap and providing students with the tools they need
to succeed in a college environment. It is a combination of many different
strategies that include: effective note taking systems, organizational
skills, academic instruction, tutorial support, and motivational activities.
AVID focuses on group collaboration and inquiry methods of learning.
“Art is my passion and I love being able to watch my students fall in love
with it. I enjoy having something to give them that will last a lifetime.”
Tiffany is also a former athlete and has a passion for coaching
cheerleading, doing pilates, running and spending time with her family.
