Rachel Call – Director of Student Life
Rachel
joins the Greenbrier Academy team with over 20 years of experience with
adolescents, primarily girls. She started as a wilderness instructor for one
of the most prominent wilderness programs in the country, and has also
developed and overseen all aspects of large summer camps in all-girl
settings, and her passion and enthusiasm shine through in all her work at
Greenbrier. Of the school she says, "I love how Greenbrier Academy helps our
girls to truly succeed in relationships and choices in their lives. Each
girl that comes here adds a unique spark that only enhances our community. I
feel blessed to be a part of their journey."
Truly encompassing our model, Rachel not only oversees Residential and Student Life - she also runs one of our weekly group sessions. This overlap gives her insight into the day-to-day activities students are involved in as well as a deeper understanding of what each individual is working through. She is also a program candidate for the Fearless Living Coaching Program, an approach she is passionate about.
Rachel grew up
in Idaho and most recently lived in Hawaii. She is married with three boys,
and loves spending time with her family. Opera, ballet, and symphony are
some of Rachel's favorite art forms and she identifies strongly with the art
world. She is also a skilled piano player, avid reader, and wonderful chef.
Horseback riding has been a large part of Rachel's life for some time. When
she's not doing all of these wonderful things, we think she sleeps. Or maybe
not....
